Home adviser lieutenant general (retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Sunday said that India had already constructed barbed wire fence in 3,271 kilometers areas out of 4’156 kilometers bordering areas with Bangladesh.
‘We have left only 8,85 kilometres bordering areas with India without having any barbed wire fence,’ said Jahangir while addressing reporters at the secretariat on the day after holding a law and order meeting at his office.
He said that previous Awami League government had signed in unequal treaties with India between 2010 and 2023.
He said that India had constructed barbed wire fences at five places recently but stopped their construction works amid protests from Border Guard Bangladesh and countrymen.
