Ganosamhati Andolan on Sunday unveiled party’s election manifesto for upcoming Jatiya Sangsad election scheduled on February 12 for building a discrimination free, democratic Bangladesh establishing rights of the people.

The executive coordinator of the party, Abul Hassan Rubel, readout the manifesto at a press conference at the central office at Hatirpool.


He stated that after the victory of students and people in the July 2024 uprising, a scope was created for establishing a discrimination-free Bangladesh and preventing fascist rule in future.

The manifesto presented 18-point pledges, including the formation of a democratic system through constitutional reform, creation of new jobs, stabilisation of essential commodity prices, elimination of corruptions and misuse of wealth, reforms of the police force to make it people-friendly.

It also included establishing a balanced foreign and defence policy to ensure national security, reforming education to be job and research-oriented, reforming policies in science and technology, introducing  people oriented health policy, modernising agriculture, promoting the development of women, children, youth, and people with autism.

It also emphasised taking steps to increase housings and public transports facilities in Dhaka city, ensuring the preservation of nature and environment and upholding democracy and the right to freedom of expression.

Central leaders of the party Dewan Abdur Rashid Nilu, Taslima Akhter, Bachchu Bhuiyan, Anjan Das, Amjad Hossain, Sumana Lutfunnahar and others attended the press conference.

A total of 17 party-nominated candidates are participating in the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad election across the country with the symbol Mathal, a traditional farmers’ hat, and among them are chief coordinator Zonayed  Saki, from Brahmanbaria-6, four women, including Taslima Akther, who is contesting from the Dhaka-12 constituency.
