The Ministry of Public Administration today said a letter circulating on social media, claiming that government offices would operate three days a week, is fake.
In a press release signed by Mohammad Mansur Hossain, public relations officer of the ministry, the authorities clarified that no such directive had been issued.
According to the release, a letter dated April 1, 2026, bearing office memo number 05.00.0000.110.22.045.26.120, has been widely shared online. The letter claims that the government office hours would be changed and offices would run three days a week in a bid to save electricity and energy.
The ministry, however, categorically said that the letter did not originate from the Ministry of Public Administration.
It urged the public not to be misled by such fake information or letters circulating on social media.
