Jeff Garcia, the American voice actor best known for playing Sheen Estevez in the Jimmy Neutron franchise, has died at the age of 50.

Family representatives confirmed that Garcia was removed from life support on Tuesday (December 9) at a hospital in Southern California, where he was surrounded by loved ones. According to US media outlet TMZ, the actor suffered a brain aneurysm earlier this year and experienced a stroke several weeks ago. He was admitted to hospital in late November with pneumonia and was discharged, but continued to face serious complications. His lung reportedly collapsed on Tuesday.

Garcia rose to prominence with the 2001 animated film "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius", voicing the excitable and eccentric Sheen. He reprised the role in 59 episodes of Nickelodeon's "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" and several television film spin-offs.

His popularity led to the creation of "Planet Sheen", a Sheen-focused animated sci-fi comedy that aired from 2010 to 2013.

Beyond "Jimmy Neutron", Garcia voiced "Pip the Mouse" in the Barnyard franchise and appeared in the "Happy Feet" films as the penguin Rinaldo. His additional voice credits include "Marmaduke" (2010) and "Rio" (2011) and its sequel.

Garcia was also an established stand-up comedian, performing regularly at the Laugh Factory, and acted in live-action productions such as the television series "Mr Box Office" and the feature film "Holy Cash". He was a frequent guest at animation conventions, where he met fans who grew up with his work.
