After more than 15 years of speculation, Slipknot’s long-rumoured side project “Look Outside Your Window” is officially set to see the light of day. The album will be released as part of this year’s Record Store Day lineup on April 18, marking one of the most talked-about archival releases in recent metal history.
Interestingly, the record will not be released under the Slipknot name. Instead, it will be credited to Look Outside Your Window, the same title as the album itself. The project was created during downtime while Slipknot were recording their 2008 album “All Hope Is Gone.”
According to details shared on the Record Store Day website, the album features material written and recorded by Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Sid Wilson, and Shawn “Clown” Crahan. During breaks from Slipknot sessions, the musicians reportedly began experimenting freely, crafting songs that leaned more toward melodic and atmospheric territory, without the pressure or expectations tied to the band’s primary sound.
Over the years, the existence of the project has been referenced in interviews and covered by outlets such as NME, Kerrang!, Revolver, and Vice, with fans repeatedly calling for its release. Now, those demands are finally being answered.
The album will feature 10 tracks, including:
“11th March”, “Moth”, “Dirge”, “Christina”, “Is Real”, “Away”, “In Reverse”, “Toad”, “Juliette”, and “U Can’t Stop This”.
The physical release will be limited to 2,300 vinyl copies, featuring a special presentation that includes a die-cut jacket, purple foil detailing, coloured inner artwork, and embossed text—making it one of the most sought-after items of Record Store Day 2026.
With its long history, limited availability, and deep connection to Slipknot’s creative evolution, “Look Outside Your Window” is expected to be one of the most in-demand releases among collectors and fans alike.
