A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by five to six unidentified attackers in Itkhola area of Rayerbazar under Mohammadpur police station on early Thursday.
The incident took place between 12:30am and 1:00am, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mohammadpur Division’s additional deputy commissioner Jewel Rana.
The victim was identified as Asadul Saradar, 30. He was an accused in five cases, the police said.
‘The body was sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations. We have recovered a ten-inch knife from the deceased,’ the police official, Jewel Rana, told New Age.
He said that the police were trying to identify the attackers and arrest them.
Asadul’s younger sister Jannatul Ferdous Riya said that her brother used to take drugs and she assumed some of his enemies took him to Rayerbazar alluring him with drugs.
‘We came to know about the incident at about 2:30am on Thursday from some local people. We came to the Suhrawardy Hospital’s morgue and found the body in the morning,’ said Jannatul.
