The Department of Films and Publications (DFP) has taken the initiative to produce two short films based on history, heritage and culture. To support the project, applications and screenplays have been invited from consulting firms, according to a notice published on Sunday (April 26).
The first of the two planned short films is titled "Gazi Kalu O Chompaboti".
The film, which will include English subtitles, will have a runtime of 25 to 30 minutes, with a budget allocation of Tk 20 lakh.
The second film will focus on Islamic culture and promote messages of tolerance and unity. It will run for 12 to 15 minutes with English subtitles, and a budget of Tk 10 lakh has been allocated for its production.
The Department of Films and Publications stated that the selected firm will be responsible for completing the entire production process, including screenplay development, casting, shooting, editing, dubbing and color grading.
In addition, the selected firm must demonstrate the capability to produce high-quality and creative films. As an eligibility requirement, the notice states that applicants must have at least five years of relevant experience.
Interested firms are required to submit their applications and screenplays in sealed envelopes directly to the office of the Director General of the Department of Films and Publications by 12:00 pm on May 9.
