A clothing showroom has been fined in Rajshahi for falsely advertising products as Pakistani and tampering price tags.
The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) conducted a drive at the showroom named “House of Shippers” in Sapura BSCIC Industrial Area around 12:00 noon on Sunday.
During the drive, the showroom failed to give accurate information on imports. It also repeatedly altered prices on the pricelist to sell products at higher rates. As a result, the showroom was fined Tk 10,000.
Md Ibrahim, Deputy Director of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, led the drive. He said that such drives would continue in the future to protect consumer interests.
