Bangladeshi film "Kaffarah", directed by Thanvir Chowdhury, has been officially selected for the International Panorama Section at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Thanvir Chowdhury shared details about the film's participation and screening schedule. "I will be travelling to Egypt on November 17, and the film will be screened on November 18," he said.
"Kaffarah" follows the story of an Imam of a local mosque who struggles with deep remorse after a tragic incident, while his devoted wife fights to pull him out of his guilt-ridden despair.
Thanvir Chowdhury has previously produced and directed three award-winning short films — "Dear Trotsky", "Post-Right", and "Esho Shushongbad Esho". He is currently in the pre-production stage of his upcoming feature film, titled "Q".
