Lisa Saha, principal at British Columbia School, has been honoured with the Global Icon award for educational leadership and women entrepreneurship in Bangladesh at a ceremony in Colombo, Sri Lanka recently.

The award was presented by former president of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena at the ceremony, which was organised by Anyelp Groups attended by international dignitaries, business leaders and social advocates, said a press release on Wednesday.


The Global Icon awards recognise individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to driving positive change across South Asia.

Lisa has been honoured for her visionary work in transforming educational frameworks and her relentless efforts to empower women to take centre stage in the regional economy.

The ceremony highlighted the intersection of innovation and service.

Upon presenting the award, Maithripala Sirisena commended the recipients for their role in fostering regional stability through education and economic inclusion.

In a statement following the ceremony, Lisa expressed her gratitude, ‘This award is a reflection of the power of resilience and the collective effort of everyone who believes that education and entrepreneurship are the twin engines of progress.’
