Nearly two decades after Runway magazine first ruled pop culture, fashion’s frostiest editor is back. The trailer for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” dropped on Sunday (February 1) night, reuniting Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt as Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs and Emily Charlton.
The first look hints at a familiar yet evolved world inside Runway. The trailer opens with Miranda Priestly once again seated in an interview room, this time alongside art director Nigel Kipling, as Andy is brought back into her orbit. In a sharp callback to the original, Miranda appears to have no recollection of Andy—only vaguely referring to her as “one of the Emilys.”
Fate soon pulls Andy and Emily back together, with Emily now working at a rival publication. What follows is an unexpected reunion, laced with trademark wit, couture-heavy visuals and biting one-liners, as the trio are forced to work together to keep Runway from shutting down.
The trailer has sparked instant nostalgia online, with fans celebrating the return of the iconic characters. Many called it “the sequel we’ve waited 20 years for,” while others expressed excitement at seeing Emily Blunt reprise one of her most beloved roles.
Released in 2006, “The Devil Wears Prada” became a cultural touchstone, offering a sharp, comedic look at the fashion media industry. The film followed Andy Sachs, a journalism graduate navigating her first job under the terrifying yet magnetic Miranda Priestly, with Emily Charlton as the fiercely ambitious senior assistant.
The sequel is once again directed by David Frankel, who helmed the original film. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is set to hit theatres on May 1, 2026, and is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
