The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Thailand and Uttara-based Galleri Kaya organized a group art exhibition titled Glimpses featuring 12 contemporary and modern artists of Bangladesh in Thailand.

A 13-day exhibition commemorated the 54th anniversary of the Victory Day of Bangladesh which was inaugurated by the deputy permanent secretary for Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand, Yuthika Isarangkura, on Tuesday at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, according to a press release.


Bangladesh ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, honorary consul of Bangladesh in Central Thailand, Galleri Kaya director artist Goutam Chakraborty, artists Ashraful Hasan and Kanak Chanpa Chakma were present at the ceremony as guests.

The exhibition, which displayed 37 artworks of artists Abdus Shakoor Shah, Ashraful Hasan, Chandra Shekhar Dey, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Ivy Zaman, Jamal Ahmed, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa, Mohammad Iqbal, Ranjit Das, Shambhu Acharya and Sheikh Afzal Hossain, depicted diverse culture, riverine aesthetics, textile traditions, ritual life and urban experience of Bangladesh.

The exhibition will end on December 14.
