Police arrested a suspected drug peddler along with a huge amount of Yaba pills from Fultala upazila in Khulna district on Monday night.

The arrested was identified as Md Wahidul Mohaldar, 40.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Fultala Police Station conducted a special drive around 9:40pm in front of a makeshift hut (tong ghar) at a fish enclosure in Garakhola village under Fultala Police Station area and arrested Wahidul.

Police recovered 500 pieces of Yaba pills from his possession.

Khulna Police Super (SP) Office confirmed the incident through a press release and said that a case has been filed with Fultala Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.

Legal procedures against the arrested accused are currently underway, added the press release.
