Various cultural organisations across Bangladesh organised special programmes focusing on the 56th anniversary of independence, which was observed on Thursday.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Ganatantrik Sanskritik Oikya, Chhayanaut, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, and others organised programmes at different venues in the capital. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy held a cultural event where cultural affairs minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury attended as the chief guest at the National Theatre Hall. Renowned singers, including Alam Ara Minu, Monir Khan, Rizia Parveen, Ithun Babu, and Ferdous Ara, rendered solo songs, while the Bangladesh Academy of Fine Arts and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy performed group dances at the event.
Ganatantrik Sanskritik Oikya organised an event comprising musical performances, poem recitations, dance, and discussions at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka. Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi, Samageet Sangskriti Prangan, Chorus, Shaheed Asad Parishad, and Maavhoi rendered group songs at the event. Meanwhile, solo singers, including Joydeep, Rasu Sarkar, and Amirun Nuzhat Moneesha, sang patriotic songs, and reciting artistes, including Deepak Suman and Tithi Subarna, also performed.
