A week-long solo art exhibition by interdisciplinary artist Mubtasim Alvee concluded on Saturday at the Alliance Française de Dhaka in Dhanmondi.
Currently an MFA student in the department of fine art at the University of Dhaka, Mubtasim Alvee explores the space between the personal and the collective.
The exhibition displayed 48 paintings created with mixed media, including acrylic, spray paint, pastel, and printmaking on paper and canvas.
Rooted in the concept of pareidolia, the works allow forms and figures to emerge organically from abstraction, reflecting layered experiences of memory, emotion, and identity.
The exhibition was curated by artist and critic Mustafa Zaman and jointly organised by Alliance Française de Dhaka and ARTCON.
The solo show transformed into a participatory and collaborative platform where dialogue, interaction, and shared experiences became central to the artistic process.
The week-long event also comprised panel discussions, workshops, interactive audio-visuals, film screenings, musical events, and theatre performances at the venue.
Inaugurated on May 8, the exhibition and its collaborative programs were supported by Bhabachakra, Syllabaad Collective, Charukola Animation Society, Dhaka Comics, Cartoon People, Tickify, Elaka Studios Ltd, Footprint Film Production, and Siliconinja.
