The government was planning to resume school feeding or midday meal programmes in all upazilas in phases to meet the nutritional needs of primary school students, according to prime minister Tarique Rahman’s answers tabled to Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday.
Responding to Sirajganj-1 lawmaker Md Selim Reza, Tarique said that a unique digital identity or Edu-ID for every student and teacher would be introduced.
To reduce the digital divide, according to him, initiatives were being taken to provide free Wi-Fi connections in 1,500 institutions, including secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
There were plans to gradually establish technical schools and colleges in all upazilas across the country, as well as polytechnic institutes in every district, the prime minister said.
