Election Commission (EC) has announced that the Pabna-1 and Pabna-2 constituencies will go to polls on February 12 in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

A public circular issued last night outlined the timetable for the constituencies, including submission of nomination papers, scrutiny, appeals, withdrawal of candidacy, and distribution of election symbols.

Earlier, on January 6, the EC had postponed elections in the two constituencies, but the Appellate Division suspended that decision on Thursday.

According to the EC’s circular, the last date for submitting nomination papers to the Returning Officer is January 18, with scrutiny scheduled for January 19. Appeals against the Returning Officer’s decisions can be filed between January 20 and January 24. The deadline for withdrawal of candidacy is January 26, while election symbols will be allocated on January 27.

The polls will be conducted based on redefined constituency boundaries published in the EC gazette on September 4
