A day after a BNP supporter was shot dead, another man was killed by unidentified gunmen in Raozan of Chattogram last night.
The incident took place around 10:00pm in the Kadalpur area, Ward No 6 of the upazila. The deceased, Nasir Uddin, also known as Madhu Nasir, was a resident of Kadalpur.
Earlier, on Saturday night, a BNP activist named Kawsaruzzaman, 36, was shot dead in the Jungle Raozan area under Ward No 9 of the municipality.
Raozan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sazedul Islam told The Daily Star that five to six armed assailants shot Nasir with a shotgun and fled the scene. He was taken to the upazila health complex by locals in critical condition and later referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital by the on-duty doctors.
He later succumbed to his injuries there. Police recovered three shotgun cartridges from the scene.
"Nasir had six cases filed against him, including a murder case. Police are investigating the motive behind the killing," he added.
The back-to-back incidents over two days have spread panic in the area, according to locals.
