A fire that broke out at a 14-storey residential building in Dhaka’s Mirpur-6 around 8:00pm on Monday was brought under control after two and a half hours.
On information, six fire engines responded to the call and doused the blaze around 10:30pm, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of control room at Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
The fire broke out in the basement of the building inside a government quarter premises, he added.
No casualties were reported till the filing of the report at 11:35pm.
The cause behind the fire could not be known immediately.
