Nine more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours till 8:00am today, taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles deaths to 352.

Of the nine, three were confirmed measles deaths, while six were suspected cases, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the latest three deaths, the number of confirmed measles deaths rose to 61. The deaths were reported from Barishal division, according to the DGHS.

Six suspected measles deaths were reported during the same period, bringing the total number of suspected deaths to 291.

Of the latest suspected deaths, three were reported from Dhaka division, two from Khulna division, and one from Sylhet division.

During the same period, a record 489 new confirmed cases were reported, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 6,979.

Besides, the DGHS recorded 946 new suspected cases in 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 47,656.
