Bangladesh’s women continued their preparations in Sydney for the upcoming AFC Women's Asian Cup, completing second day of training at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday as they work to adapt to the warm Australian conditions.
The team arrived in Sydney on Thursday night to prepare for the tournament, where Bangladesh will make their debut at Asia’s premier women’s competition. Peter Butler’s side will open their campaign against nine-time champions China on March 3.
Sunday’s two-hour session focused on possession play, transitions and ball control before concluding with a 40-minute practice match. Training began in relatively cool conditions but soon gave way to a warm and sunny morning, testing the players’ endurance.
Sweden-based forward Anika Rania Siddiqui said the squad were gradually adjusting to the conditions.

“It feels good as we had our second day practice here in Australia. It's very hot but we're getting used to it and it's getting better every day,” Anika said in a video message released by the Bangladesh Football Federation.
“It's hard with the weather. I'm still getting used to the weather and it's hotter here than in Bangladesh.”
Despite the demanding conditions and preparations for stronger opposition, the players are also enjoying their time together as team cohesion continues to improve.
“I'm staying with Afeida (Khandaker) again and we're having much fun here in Sydney. The team bonding is getting better,” she said.
After the morning session, the players underwent ice baths for recovery before returning later in the day for a structured gym programme conducted in two groups under the supervision of strength and conditioning coach Cameron Lord.
