A mild tremor jolted Bangladesh capital Dhaka and nearby districts again on Thursday morning.

According to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the 4.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Dhaka and adjacent districts at 6:14am on Thursday.

The epicentre of the tremor was three kilometres north of Narsingdi and 33 kilometres west-northwest of Tongi in Gazipur and the depth was 30 kilometres.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

Earlier on Tuesday, another mild earthquake was felt in parts of Bangladesh, including Chattogram in the early hours of the day.

The recent tremor comes nearly two weeks after a moderate earthquake on November 21, which left at least 10 people dead and more than 1,000 injured across Bangladesh.

That earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.5 according to the US Geological Survey, hit at 10:38am local time in Narsingdi, about 25 kilometers from Dhaka, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department, however, reported the earthquake’s magnitude as 5.7.

In the aftermath of that earthquake, several mild earthquakes were recorded across the country.
