Sony has launched its new FX5 Cinema Line camera in Bangladesh, introducing the latest model at an event in Dhaka on Friday.

The FX5 features a full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor and Sony’s BIONZ XR2 processing engine. It offers more than 15 stops of dynamic range in S-Log3, three base ISO settings of 800, 4000 and 12800, and a new Dual Gain Shooting mode aimed at reducing noise in darker areas.

According to Sony, the model is the first in its FX series to support Open Gate shooting using the full 3:2 sensor area, as well as internal recording in the company’s 16-bit X-OCN RAW format. It can record 5K video at up to 60 frames per second, 4K at up to 120fps and Full HD at up to 240fps, says Sony.

Sony said the FX5 also includes AI-assisted autofocus, 5-axis in-body image stabilisation and a 3.5-inch articulating touchscreen. The company introduced two accessories alongside the camera: the DVF-EL1 OLED viewfinder and the XLR-H2 audio handle.
