Bangladesh’s women’s “A” team delivered a stunning performance to bundle out Pakistan “A” for just 56 runs and secure a commanding 54-run victory in the semi-final of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground today.

The emphatic win propels Bangladesh into the tournament final, where they will face India “A” in a highly anticipated title clash on Sunday.

Sent into bat first, Bangladesh posted a modest 110 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs, a total that looked vulnerable against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. The top order struggled to build partnerships, but skipper Fahima Khatun steadied the innings with an unbeaten 40 off 32 balls, featuring five boundaries and a calm temperament under pressure.

For Pakistan, bowlers kept things tight early, but Bangladesh managed to eke out enough runs to set a defendable target. Despite periodic breakthroughs, no other Bangladeshi batter supported Fahima with significant scores, leaving the final total below par on paper but competitive in the context of the slow pitch.

Pakistan’s chase unravelled disastrously. The visitors never found momentum as wickets tumbled at regular intervals, and they were dismissed for 56 in just 16.4 overs. Left-hander Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with just 14, but it was the relentless Bangladesh bowling that dominated proceedings.

Sanjida Akter Meghla spearheaded the effort with remarkable figures of 3 for 6, while Fahima picked up two crucial scalps. Other bowlers including Fariha Trisna, Farjana Easmin, and Fatema Jahan supported in restricting Pakistan’s batting depth.

Bangladesh’s comprehensive victory reflects their growing strength in women’s cricket and sets up a compelling final against tournament favourites India.
