BNP candidates are leading in all five constituencies of Sunamganj.

In four of them, the nearest rival to the “sheaf of paddy” symbol is the “scales”, and in the other, an independent candidate.

This information was known at 9:00pm tonight from the office of the returning officer.

In Sunamganj-1(Tahirpur, Jamalganj, Dharmapasha, Madhyanagar), out of 178 centres, results of 11 centres show BNP candidate Kamruzzaman Kamrul received 8,848 votes. Jamaat candidate Tofayel Ahmed received 5,898 votes.

In Sunamganj-2 constituency (Dirai and Shalla), out of 112 centres, results of 12 centres show BNP candidate Md Nasir Chowdhury received 7,286 votes. His nearest rival Jamaat candidate Mohammad Shishir Monir received 3,788 votes.

In Sunamganj-3 constituency (Jagannathpur and Shantiganj), out of 148 centres, results of 38 centres show BNP candidate Mohammad Kaysar Ahmed received 26,044 votes. His nearest rival independent candidate Md Anwar Hossain received 12,169 votes.

In Sunamganj-4 constituency (Sadar and Bishwambharpur), out of 116 centres, results of 22 centres show BNP candidate Nurul Islam received 17,119 votes. His nearest rival Jamaat candidate Mohammad Shams Uddin received 11,041 votes.

In Sunamganj-5 constituency (Chhatak and Dowarabazar), out of 171 centres, results of 25 centres show BNP candidate Kalim Uddin Ahmed received 20,651 votes. His nearest rival Jamaat candidate Abdus Salam Al Madani received 12,956 votes.
