After a break during the July-August movement, the construction of the Dhaka-Ashulia Expressway, the second such expressway centring the capital, is now going on in full swing and saw almost 50 percent progress till December last year. Halima, who lives near the Khulna Railway Station, woke up to see these two puppies shivering amid the heavy winter fog yesterday morning. She made sure to get some warm clothes to cover them up while they sleep. The dogs are not at risk as this particular rail track has been nonoperational for long.

Protesting Friday night’s attack on two fellow traders by armed criminals, shop owners and employees demonstrated in front of the Multiplan Centre in the capital’s Elephant Road around noon yesterday. Adviser Asif Mahmud is seen arriving at the scene. He assured them of security and justice following which the trades withdrew.
