A Tejgaon College student’s hanging body was recovered from his rented house in the capital’s Jigatola area.

The deceased was identified as Din Islam Emon, 21, a second-year honours student at the college.

On information, the police went to Emon’s house in Jigatola Notun Rasta area at about 11:00pm on Saturday, said Hazaribagh police inspector (investigation) Shahadat Hossain, adding that they broke the door of Emon’s room and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

Recovering the body, they sent it to Dhaka Medical College for autopsy.

The police primarily learned that Emon was depressed over some personal affair, said Shahadat, adding that an unnatural death case was filed over the incident.

‘The body has already been handed over to the family of the deceased,’ said Shahadat on Sunday evening.
