The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has urged the public to directly report social media content that incites terrorism or violence through WhatsApp and email, according to a press release issued on December 20, 2025.
Starting from December 20, individuals can submit complaints about posts that call for violence or pose risks to public safety by contacting the agency through the designated channels. Citizens can notify NCSA of any social media post containing calls for terrorism and violence directly through a dedicated WhatsApp number: 01308332592. Other than the WhatsApp number, citizens can also mail: [email protected]
Regarding the reporting process, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser at the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology, said in a recent Facebook post: "The National Cyber Security Agency will report to the platforms through BTRC after initial verification. It is to be noted that the government cannot take down any social media post, the government can only report posts related to violence to the relevant platform by citing logical reasons."
Faiz Taiyeb also mentioned that hate speech which directly incites violence or encourages violent acts is a punishable offence under the National Cyber Security Ordinance 2025.
