Skipper Sabina Khatun scored a hat-trick with four goals as Bangladesh Women’s Futsal team delivered a dominant performance during thrashing 9-1 win over Pakistan in the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship 2026 at the Nonthaburi Stadium in Bangkok on Friday.

Bangladesh took complete control from the opening whistle, racing to a 6–0 lead by the end of the first period.

Sabina led the charge, scoring twice in the opening half, while goals from Nilufa Yeasmin Nila, Nouson Jahan (two), and Srimoti Krishna Rani Sarkar left Pakistan reeling early in the contest.

The hosts continued their dominance after the break, adding three more goals in the second period.

Srimoti Krishna Rani Sarkar struck again in the 32nd minute, while Sabina completed her hat-trick with goals in the 34th and 40th minutes.

Pakistan managed a consolation goal through Anmool Hira in the 33rd minute, but it did little to halt Bangladesh’s momentum.

With this victory, Bangladesh maintained their domination at the top of the points table with 13 points from five matches. Pakistan, meanwhile, are placed sixth with seven points from the same number of matches. India sit second in the standings with nine points from four matches.

Bangladesh will play their final match of the championship against Maldives on Sunday at the same venue.

The team finishing at the top of the table will be crowned champions.

Earlier, Bangladesh made a winning start to the tournament by defeating India 3–1 in their opening match. Sabina and her teammates then came from behind to play out a 3–3 draw with Bhutan in their second match, before blanking Nepal 3–0 in the third fixture. Bangladesh continued their strong run by beating Sri Lanka 6–3 in their fourth match of the tournament.
