Crowds gathered outside the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday as a tense situation persisted around the stadium area.

The crowd chanted slogans against Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) directors while members of the armed forces were deployed inside the stadium premises.

Police were also seen monitoring the situation.

Security was heightened near the stadium entrances as one BCB director was seen arriving at the BCB, according to media reports, while chants continued outside.
