Dhaka witnessed a refreshing new wave in its live music scene, as TARA Unplugged successfully hosted its first-ever edition on 28 November, at 138 East, Gulshan 1, delivering an intimate and emotionally rich acoustic experience for music lovers across the city. The exclusive event, organised by Jannatul Ferdaus Moon, brought together celebrated musicians, timeless melodies, and a passionate audience for an unforgettable night.
The show began at 7:30 PM and continued until 10:40 PM, capturing the audience with warm ambience, heartfelt storytelling, and an unfiltered musical purity rarely experienced in today's fast-paced concert culture.
A Magical Night of Music
The evening featured captivating performances by Shuvendu–Nandita (Mosey & Co) and Animes Roy, under the artistic curation of Shuvendu Das Shuvo. Their unplugged sets guided listeners through a nostalgic journey across Romantic Melodies, Old Classics, and Bengali Folk.
For the first time, Mosey & Co and Animes Roy performed together on the same stage, supported by a group of talented musicians who elevated the experience to new heights.
A Vision Beyond Music
Speaking after the event, organiser Jannatul Ferdaus Moon expressed deep emotion and ambition for what TARA represents:
"'Tara' is more than an event — it is a cultural awakening. A movement to bring Bengali music, literature, heritage, and values closer to the youth, in a voice that resonates for a new era. 'Tara Unplugged' is the first light of this journey — the first note, the first rhythm, the first belief. And this is just the beginning.
In the days ahead, TARA will continue to host unplugged sessions, champion emerging musicians, and create platforms for new voices to shine."
What Comes Next for TARA
With overwhelmingly positive audience response and a sold-out first edition, TARA is already preparing to expand its creative footprint. Going forward, the initiative aims to introduce larger music festivals, creative community gatherings, themed cultural celebrations, exhibitions blending music, literature, and visual storytelling.
Through these endeavours, TARA envisions ushering Bengali culture into a bold new dawn — one where tradition meets a fresh, contemporary voice.
