Singer Xefer Rahman and television host Rafsan Sabab are set to get married tomorrow (Wednesday), putting an end to months of speculation surrounding their relationship. The much-discussed couple will formalise their union through a private wedding ceremony.
For over a year, rumours of a romantic relationship between Xefer and Rafsan had circulated within the entertainment industry. However, both had remained tight-lipped, consistently referring to each other as close friends in media interactions and on social platforms. Known for keeping their personal lives private, neither had addressed the speculation directly.
According to sources close to the couple, the wedding ceremony will take place at a resort in Aminbazar, on the outskirts of Dhaka. Family members and several artistes from the music and television industries are expected to attend. Wedding invitations have already been sent out to close acquaintances over the past week. Attempts to reach Xefer Rahman for comment, however, were unsuccessful.
Xefer and Rafsan share a long-standing friendship, which gradually evolved into a deeper relationship, ultimately leading to their decision to marry.
Speculation about their relationship intensified about a year ago, particularly after news of Rafsan’s previous marriage ending became public. Since then, the two were spotted together on several occasions, both at home and abroad.
In mid-2024, the pair were seen together in Thailand, with photographs from a Bangkok shopping mall circulating widely on social media, further fuelling rumours. When asked about the speculation in an earlier interview, Xefer had declined to comment, saying she preferred not to discuss her personal life publicly.
At the time, she also noted that people were already making assumptions about her marriage and family life, adding that she did not feel the need to respond to such discussions.
With the wedding set to take place tomorrow, long-running speculation around Xefer Rahman and Rafsan Sabab’s relationship has finally been laid to rest.
