The country’s lowest temperature on Saturday was recorded in Tentulia of Panchagarh, where the mercury dipped to 10.5°C at 9am, according to the Tentulia Meteorological Office.
Earlier on Tuesday, the season’s lowest temperature of 11.7°C was recorded in the district. For the next three days (Wednesday to Friday), the minimum temperature in Tentulia hovered at 12°C.
With the temperature falling further, public movement on the roads has visibly decreased.
Jitendranath Roy, officer-in-charge of the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, said: “The temperature remained around 12°C for several days. Today it dropped to 10.5°C.”
He warned that a cold wave may sweep the region in the coming days.
