Ahead of its Eid release, director Mejbaur Rahman Sumon’s upcoming film “Roid” is continuing its promotional campaign with a live music event at Rabindra Sarobar today.
Titled “Roid-er Gaan”, the concert will take place from 4:00pm to 9:00pm today (May 22) and feature performances by Meghdol, Bengal Symphony, Shohojia and Sohags Frequency. Members of the film’s cast and crew are also expected to attend.
The film’s trailer and three songs have already been released online as part of its promotional rollout. The team has also launched a Facebook campaign titled “Roid-er Pala”, featuring short segments exploring different aspects of the film ahead of its release. Two episodes have been released so far.

Speaking about the campaign, Sumon said more promotional events are planned in the coming weeks, including visits to several universities.

“Since the Eid holidays are beginning soon, some of the remaining promotional events may also continue after the film’s release,” he told local media.
“Roid” centres on an unconventional human relationship involving a mystic figure and his mentally distressed wife. The lead roles are played by Nazifa Tushi and Mostafizur Noor Imran. The cast also includes Gazi Rakayet and Ahsabul Yamin Riad.
