Six-time National Film Award–winning actor Fazlur Rahman Babu continues to remain busy with back-to-back film projects. As part of this ongoing journey, he has begun shooting for another new project titled “Pressure Cooker”, directed by Raihan Rafi.
Speaking about his character in the production, Fazlur Rahman Babu said, “The character I am playing is something audiences have never seen me portray before. It is a very challenging role and completely different from my previous work.”
When asked about the storyline, he responded, “I don’t want to reveal everything just yet. All I can say is that the story is also very different. ‘Pressure Cooker’ will entertain audiences while also making them think. It is shaping up to be a very strong film, and viewers will come to the theatres.”
The cast of “Pressure Cooker” also includes Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shobnom Bubly, Gazi Rakayet, Nazifa Tushi, among others.

“There is a sense of uniqueness in all of Raihan Rafi’s films,” he emphasised. “I have previously worked with him in several projects, including ‘Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi’. He always brings something new to the table and understands the audience’s taste.”
He added, “Audiences have gone to theatres for all of Raihan Rafi’s films, and his works have generated discussions. I believe the same will happen with this new film. A sense of trust develops when you keep working together, and I am speaking from that trust.”
In response to another question, the actor said, “The number of cinema halls in our country has decreased, and there was also a reluctance among audiences to visit theatres. However, thanks to some strong films by young directors, including Raihan Rafi, audiences are returning to cinemas.”
He further said, “Tanim Noor, Himel Ashraf, Sanjoy Somadder, Mehedi Hassan Hridoy and Raihan Rafi—each of them is young and knows how to tell a story. They are doing good work, and their films are drawing audiences. That makes me hopeful.”

Apart from this new project, Fazlur Rahman Babu is set to begin shooting for another film very soon, which will be directed by Hasan Morshed.
Alongside films, he continues to dedicate time to television dramas and has already completed shooting for several projects. Once his film shoots are finished, he will take on more drama roles.
Speaking about television dramas in Bangladesh, he said, “Bangladeshi dramas are story-driven. Many well-written stories are being brought to the screen, and audiences are watching them.”
In response to another question, Fazlur Rahman Babu said, “I consider myself a fortunate actor because I have had the opportunity to play many challenging characters in dramas. I am still doing so and want to continue in the future.”
He added, “Experience is a great asset. In one lifetime, I have encountered people from upper-, middle- and lower-class backgrounds. I have observed them closely, and those experiences help me greatly when I act.”
