The police recovered the body of a businessman from his rice trading shop at Bogar Bazar of Trishal upazila in Mymensingh on Tuesday.

The deceased was Suresh Chandra Sarkar, 62.

Trishal police station officer-in-charge Md Feruz Hossain said that the deceased had injury marks on his head and face and might have been hacked with a sharp weapon.

He was believed to have been killed inside the shop between 9:00pm and 11:00pm on Monday, the official said.

The body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A case was being prepared and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday, the official added.
