While there may be pushbacks and doubts about its usage, artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept but already reshaping classrooms, libraries, and learning environments across the world, and here in our country as well.

To that end, given the exponential rise of the use of AI, the truth is that our entire education sector must prepare for this transformation.

Indeed, artificial intelligence is increasingly not optional but inevitable. Students are, whether they admit it or not, already using AI tools to draft essays, solve problems, and explore new subjects. Ignoring this reality therefore risks our education continuing to lag behind.

Bangladesh must therefore not fight the rise of AI but instead be a nation that looks to integrate AI into the curricula. If our education system remains outdated, our graduates will be ill‑equipped to compete in a global workforce where AI literacy is becoming as fundamental as computer literacy once was.

This of course is a challenge, for teachers, administrators, and policymakers. There is a great need to harness AI as a tool for better learning, and to ensure that students use it responsibly.

For that to happen, everybody associated with our education sector also needs to be trained, from teachers to librarians to administrators.

AI has the power to personalize learning, identify gaps in student understanding, and even support inclusive education for children with disabilities. But none of those breakthroughs are possible without knowledgeable educators guiding its use.

As such, we must invest in training, infrastructure, and curriculum reform so that every student, teacher, and institution can benefit from this technological shift. The question is no longer whether AI will shape education, but whether we are ready for this change.
