Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas, currently undergoing treatment at Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia, is “feeling much better,” his wife Afroza Abbas said tonight.
“By the grace of Allah, his condition is now much better. He is feeling quite well. His physical condition has improved. He is being given therapy every day,” Afroza told reporters.
She sought prayers from people at home and abroad for his quick recovery.
For the first time since his illness, a photo of Abbas was posted on social media today, showing him seated in a wheelchair alongside Afroza, his younger brother Mirza Khokon, and other family members.
Abbas, a BNP standing committee member and former minister, lost consciousness on March 11 and was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka's Bashundhara, where specialists performed brain surgery. On March 15, he was flown to Singapore General Hospital by air ambulance, where he received treatment for nearly a month before being transferred to Malaysia for physiotherapy on April 14.
