The National Citizen Party on Wednesday announced a primary list of 125 candidates at a press conference for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections to be held in February next year.

Convener of the party, Mohammad Nahid Islam, said that their party was taking in the next general election with the vow to implement sprits of July uprising.

‘We have formed an election alliance with two political parties and also continuing political activities for the implementation of the spirits of July uprising’, Nahid said.

Chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary said that the main leaders of July uprising  got nominations in the first list.

‘We will give two more lists to fulfill candidates in 300 constituencies,’ Nasiruddin said.

He said the candidates must follow the instructions of the Election Commission during their election campaigns and anybody ignoring the instruction would face cancellation of their candidatures, Nasiruddin said.

Member secretary of the party Akhter Hossain read out the names of the candidates who got party nominations.

The prominent candidates are Mohammad Nahid Islam for Dhaka-11, Akhtar Hossen for Rangpur-4, Nasiruddin Patwary for Dhaka-18, Mohammad Sarjis Alam for Panchgarh-1, Hanat Abdullah for Cumilla-4, Tasnim Zara for Dhaka -9, Ariful Islam Adib for Dhaka-16, Faridul Haque for Khulna-2, Sarwar Tusher for Narsingdi-2, Mohammad Ataullah for Brahmanbaria-3, Ariful Islam for Chandpur-1, and others.

On February 28 this year, the NCP was formed by the students and youth leaders of the successful 2024 July uprising against the Awami League regime.
