Apple has made the first public betas of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, and watchOS 27 available to download. The releases allow anyone with a compatible device to test the new software ahead of its official launch later this year.
The headline feature is Siri AI, a rebuilt version of the assistant that Apple says can hold natural conversations, understand follow-up questions, recognise content on screen, and perform actions across multiple apps. A dedicated Siri app stores interaction history. The assistant is available on Apple Intelligence-capable devices, but only in English at this stage and not in the European Union.
Apple has also adjusted the Liquid Glass design introduced last year, adding a slider to control transparency and making readability improvements. Other additions include AI-powered photo editing tools in the Photos app, automatic tab grouping in Safari, and the ability to create Shortcuts using natural language. The Camera app gains Visual Intelligence features such as nutritional information lookup and bill splitting.
On the Mac, Siri AI is accessible from Spotlight and offers writing assistance, while watchOS 27 brings the assistant to the wrist alongside a redesigned app grid and new health tracking options. iPadOS 27 includes all iOS 27 features and faster file transfers to external drives.
The public beta is identical to the third developer beta, according to reports by MacRumours and Engadget, and is available now through Apple’s beta programme website.
