Prime minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday joined the 46th National Rally of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party at the Ansar-VDP Academy in Safipur of Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur.
The prime minister arrived at the parade ground of the academy around 10:00am.
He was received there by home minister Salahuddin Ahmed, director general of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud and senior secretary of home ministry Manzur Morshed Chowdhury.
After the arrival, the prime minister placed a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial dedicated to the brave members of the force.
He later took his seat on the stage at the parade ground, where an attractive physical drill and display performance began.
After the display concluded, Tarique Rahman walked over to the participating members, shook hands with them and exchanged greetings, appreciating their discipline and performance.
Cabinet members, lawmakers and directors of Ansar-VDP were present at the colourful event.
