The Rapid Action Battalion seized 16 kilograms of cannabis concealed inside a container train in Brahmanbaria Thursday night and arrested the train driver for his suspected involvement in smuggling the drugs.

The arrested train driver is Mohammad Shahjahan, 54.

On information, the elite force conducted a raid in the container train, which was coming from Chittagong, at Akhaura railway station on Thursday night and arrested Shahjahan, said RAB-9 company commander Md Nurunabi.

During the raid, 16kg of cannabis, wrapped in polythene and concealed in the train, were recovered, added Nurunabi.

Shahjahan was handed over to Akhaura railway police station after completing legal procedures.
