Tanvir Ghani has been appointed as a special assistant to the prime minister for investment and capital market affairs, holding the rank equivalent of a state minister.
In his new role, Tanvir will serve as a bridge between the Bangladesh government and global capital markets.
With over two decades of experience in global finance -- spanning Hong Kong, London and New York, he has held senior roles at institutions including Goldman Sachs, Tybourne Capital Management and The Osiris Group.
He has overseen growth equity investments across technology, fintech, biotech, and infrastructure sectors, combining operational oversight with strategic advisory expertise.
His focus includes enhancing policy transparency, institutional strengthening, and positioning Bangladesh as a competitive destination for diversified foreign direct investment.
The special assistant to the PM would aim to professionalise the nation’s economic narrative and align regulatory frameworks with international standards.
“Bangladesh stands at a critical juncture where transitioning to a global breakout nation requires a foundation of institutional excellence and a shift from being a destination of potential to one of global trust,” Tanvir Ghani said, according to a press release, outlining his vision.
