The Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union held a theatre evening highlighting anti-imperialism and anti-fascism at the Selim Al Deen Muktamancha on February 6.

Theatre troupe Khondo Ta staged the play Indrapatan at the event. The production portrayed how an authoritarian ruler undermined the justice system, organisers said. The narrative concluded with the ruler’s downfall.

JUCSU drama affairs secretary Ruhul Islam said that the event had been organised to encourage critical reflection through art.

He also added that such cultural programmes would continue to take place to promote dialogues on social and political issues through performance.
