The government has installed new secretaries at four ministries in a fresh round of bureaucratic reshuffling.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate orders on Thursday confirming the postings, two of which followed the elevation of additional secretaries to secretary rank.

Md Obaidur Rahman takes charge as secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.

He was previously attached to the public administration ministry in the same rank and had earlier headed the industries ministry.

The housing ministry’s outgoing secretary Md Nazrul Islam retired on Jul 30.

Jasmin Nahar, an additional secretary at the home ministry, has been elevated to secretary and posted to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.

The education ministry’s departing secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain has been attached to the public administration ministry.

Power Division Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam moves across to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Md Ziaul Haque, an additional secretary at the Power Division, has been promoted to secretary and retained within the same division.
