Nearly five lakhs postal ballots from overseas voters have already been received by returning officers in Bangladesh, according to the latest figures released by the Bangladesh Election Commission.

As of 2:00pm on February 12, 2026, a total of 495,551 overseas ballots had formally reached returning officers.


The commission reported that 766,862 ballot papers had reached their respective destination countries. Of these, 554,258 voters had received their ballots, and 543,751 voters had completed voting.

A total of 537,554 completed ballots have been deposited at post offices or postal boxes in the relevant countries.

So far, 498,266 ballots have arrived back in Bangladesh, demonstrating strong engagement from expatriate voters.

Domestic postal voting under the In-Country Postal Voting system has also recorded substantial participation.

According to the commission, 760,898 ballots have been dispatched by Bangladesh Post to voters within the country.

Among them, 681,819 voters have received their ballots, while 674,376 have completed voting.

A total of 669,950 completed ballots have been submitted to post offices or postal boxes, and 648,294 ballots have been received by returning officers as of the latest update.
