The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Tuesday approved the proposal at a meeting at its office.

The bonds will be non-convertible, unsecured, fully redeemable, and coupon-bearing, according to a BSEC press release.

The coupon rate will be the reference rate plus a 3 per cent margin, and the bonds will be issued to corporate entities, high-net-worth individuals, banks and financial

institutions, provident and gratuity funds, and insurers through private placements.

The face value of the debt securities will be Tk 0.5 million per unit.Bangladesh economic report

DBH Finance will act as the trustee of the bonds, while BRAC EPL will be the issue manager of the debt securities.

Meghna Bank will utilise the funds to strengthen its capital base under Basel-III requirements.
