Saudi Arabia is set to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday (March 20) as the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted this evening, marking the completion of 30 days of Ramadan.

The kingdom's moon-sighting committee convened to verify the appearance of the new moon, confirming the end of the fasting month in accordance with the Islamic tradition of determining the start of a new month through lunar observation, reports the Gulf News.

Accordingly, Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 in Bangladesh is expected to be celebrated on Saturday (March 21), subject to the Shawwal moon sighting.

If the moon is not sighted on Thursday night, the festival will be observed on Saturday, following a 30-day Ramadan.
