BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman returned to his Gulshan residence early Friday after concluding seven election rallies within 16 hours on the first day of his campaign.
His final rally was held at around 4:30am in the Gausia area of Rupganj under Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj. Following the rally, Tarique Rahman headed straight to his residence, BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed.
Tarique Rahman began his election campaign at 12:30pm on Thursday with a rally at the Alia Madrasa ground in Sylhet.
He subsequently addressed rallies at Ainpur playground in Sherpur, Moulvibazar; the Shaistaganj upazila ground in Habiganj; Kuttapara playground in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria; Bhairab Stadium in Kishoreganj; and an area adjacent to the municipal zone in Narsingdi.
Starting from Sylhet, Tarique Rahman travelled continuously for 16 hours. Large crowds were seen at roadside gatherings and public rallies along the route, with supporters remaining present until late into the night.
